MaxxSouth Broadband Wins Two Readers' Choice Awards in Starkville
MaxxSouth was voted Best TV Provider and Best Internet Provider
STARKVILLE, Miss., April 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MaxxSouth Broadband—a local telecommunications provider in Mississippi—was presented with two Starkville Readers' Choice Awards this year: Best TV Provider and Best Internet Provider.
"Our team at MaxxSouth wants to thank the community for nominating and ultimately awarding MaxxSouth as the Best TV Provider and the Best Internet Provider in the community," said Peter Kahelin, president and CEO of MaxxSouth Broadband. "As a local provider, we take great pride in serving our community. We know that our neighbors, our friends and our family benefit from the work we do."
Each year, the Starkville Daily News holds the Best of Starkville Readers' Choice Award. In February and March, voting is available in distinct categories for both individuals and businesses. The varied categories include automotive groups, food and dining, retail, services and others.
"The purpose of the award is to thank and recognize the people and businesses serving our community," said Wendi McMinn, Classified and Legal Representative for the Starkville Daily News. "We want everyone to know they are appreciated."
Candidates are first chosen through a nomination process by community members. After reaching four or five nominations under each category, voting begins. The ballot for participants to vote is printed in the paper for about three weeks. This year was the first time online voting was available, and it was immensely popular among voters.
MaxxSouth competed against big names such as Cspire and AT&T.
"We are so excited that [MaxxSouth] won both the TV Provider and Internet Provider awards," said McMinn. "It made me so happy to see how excited MaxxSouth's Starkville manager was. I can tell she and her team in the office really take pride in their job, and that is obviously why their customers chose them as the best."
