Maxthon Partners with YouWave's Android Emulator to be Its Default Browser
SAN FRANCISCO, April 7, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Software and services company Maxthon and YouWave LLC, one of the first creators of an Android emulator for the PC, announced today that YouWave will ship its ground-breaking Android emulator with Maxthon Mobile as its default browser.
Now, when users install YouWave's flagship product they'll see the icon for Maxthon Mobile in the All Apps area, ready to launch.
"Maxthon and our YouWave emulator make a great pair," YouWave CEO Eugene Huang said. "The first Android emulators were made for developers, clunky to use and were slow. YouWave addressed those problems and filled an important void. Easy to install, it runs 2-5 times faster than most emulators. It's so fast we're finding a significant number of Android consumers are turning to it as a way to enjoy Android on their PC desktop. Android gamers, for example, are among them.
"Even people already using a smartphone find some apps, such as games, are more enjoyable running on a PC with a big screen," Huang said.
With YouWave, the user has a choice of using the smartphone, using Windows with the information it shares with the phone, or staying in Android but enjoying the display real estate associated with Windows and a desktop PC.
Jeff Chen, CEO of Maxthon, said, "Maxthon and YouWave together create a great Android experience -- for developers and for those interested in trying out Android on their PC. Once again, the Maxthon community discovered a great piece of software. Our community prompted us to check out YouWave and we liked what we found."
YouWave adds to Maxthon's increasingly converged Internet experience that links Maxthon Mobile on Android with the company's flagship product, Maxthon 3, on Windows, all backed up by Maxthon's secure cloud. The two browsers automatically store favorites in a cloud server, where each browser can draw on the same information.
