NEW YORK, April 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Max Brenner International, the worldwide Chocolate Bar brand based in New York City, announced today that it has been nominated for Best Food & Drink website in the 18th Annual Webby Awards. Hailed as the "Internet's highest honor" by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet.
Max Brenner pushes the boundaries of how chocolate is enjoyed and makes it a full sensory experience. Guests are encouraged to see, smell, taste and touch chocolate through innovative dishes such as Chocolate Chunk Pizza with marshmallows and melted chocolate chunks, creamy hot chocolate served in the company's famous Hug Mug, and melting chocolate fondue in a Fire Water tower. With more than 50 locations worldwide, Max Brenner is also known for its retail products, which it sells in-store and online.
The company launched its latest website in January 2014 and is in the process of unveiling multiple regional versions to serve its global customer base. The new design extends the Chocolate Bar experience online through photography and artwork that showcases Max Brenner's delectable recipes that are shareable, pourable, dippable, dunkable and injectable. Updated navigation is designed to take users through the "story" of the brand.
The Webby nomination is the second for Sam Borgese, CEO of Max Brenner International. "This is a great honor for Max Brenner, and is a nod to the importance we place on branding and digital marketing," said Borgese. "The website's development was a team effort led by Stacey Paul, our Director of Marketing, and Stag & Hare, our design firm. Both intuitively understood the significance of combining a unique aesthetic with a fluid user experience."
"Nominees like Max Brenner are setting the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet," said David-Michel Davies, Executive Director of The Webby Awards. "It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the 12,000 entries we received this year."
As a nominee, Max Brenner is also eligible to win a Webby People's Voice Award, which is voted online by fans across the globe. From now until April 24th, fans can cast their votes at pv.webbyawards.com. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 29, 2014.
