"We are delighted to add these illustrious individuals with technological, operational, and leadership expertise to our board," said Ray Grainger, CEO and co-founder at Mavenlink. "They bring a history of vision and success that will add an extremely valuable perspective for our next phase of growth."
The new members of Mavenlink's Board of Directors include:
Klaus Besier. With more than 35 years of successful industry leadership, Klaus is an architect of rapid growth for enterprise technology companies. Klaus previously built and led the strategic direction of global software leader SAP America, Inc., as its President and CEO. Under his leadership, SAP Americas grew from $50 million to $1 billion in revenues in less than five years. Most recently, Klaus held a five-year tenure as Chairman and CEO of RES Software, where he successfully took the company global, tripled new license revenue, and introduced new products including the IT store. Klaus has also held roles as President and CEO of Firepond, Inc., which he took public in one of the most successful IPOs of 2000, and also Neoware, Inc., where he drove the transformation of the business and strong topline growth that resulted in Neoware's 2007 acquisition by HP, with a total transaction value of more than $300 million.
"Mavenlink has the vision, strategy, and technology to lead the market," said Besier. "They have introduced a next generation business solution that bridges the gap between productivity and profitability for consultancies, agencies, and professional services organizations. This is a segment of the market that until has now been underserved by technology. I'm excited to join Mavenlink on this journey."
Raul Fernandez. Raul serves as the Chairman of ObjectVideo, a private technology company that develops video-analytics software for automated security surveillance. A successful entrepreneur, Raul founded Internet services company Proxicom in 1991. Under his leadership, the company grew to more than $200 million in revenues, becoming the leading provider of e-business services for Fortune 500 companies around the globe. After a bidding war, Raul eventually sold Proxicom to Dimension Data in 2001. Following the sale of his company, Raul was appointed to the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, and he has since served as a Special Advisor to General Atlantic Partners, a growth equity firm with more than $17 billion under management. Raul is also the co-owner and Vice Chairman of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, the holding company for the Washington Capitals (NHL), Washington Wizards (NBA), Washington Mystics (WNBA), and the Verizon and Patriot Center.
"It's exciting to see Mavenlink on this tremendous growth trajectory," said Fernandez. "I've been fortunate to be a part of a number of companies that have grown from startup to global powerhouse, and Mavenlink has all the right characteristics. I am thrilled to help them get there."
Mavenlink announces these new appointments to the Board of Directors amidst a record-breaking 2015. Earlier this year, the company announced a $19M round of funding to fuel even more growth, totaling $40M of venture capital raised to date. In April, Gartner named Mavenlink a 2015 Cool Vendor, a coveted recognition from the leading technology research and advisory firm. In September, Ray Grainger was recognized as "Outstanding CEO of the Year" for his innovation and leadership by the Orange County Tech Alliance.
