Mavenir Enables Deployment of Mobile Cloud Services for Tier 1 Mobile Operators

RICHARDSON, Texas and BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Converged Solutions provider Mavenir Systems has announced that it has successfully enabled mobile operators to launch Mobile Cloud Services over 3G, 4G, WiFi and broadband access using its Converged Voice, Video and Messaging Solutions. This innovative approach is helping mobile operators to broaden their service offerings and expand their service horizons to effectively compete with over the top (OTT) players.

Mavenir's Mobile Cloud Services strategy is enabling multiple mobile operators across North America, Europe and Asia to launch a range of new services including Voice over WiFi, Mobile Video and GSMA Rich Communications Suite (RCS) services, which are experiencing significant consumer demand.  These operators are able to offer a variety of mobile services over their 3G, LTE and WiFi devices, expanding their reach and address growing competition from the likes of Skype or Google Voice.  

Moving forward, these operators are well positioned with Mavenir-enabled Mobile Cloud services to offer Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and LTE Messaging solutions as capable devices come online.  A Tier 1 customer in particular is deploying Mavenir Converged Messaging solution for OMA Converged IP Messaging (CPM) as part of their Mobile Cloud, establishing a messaging services framework for text, multimedia and content delivery across SMS, MMS, SIP and REST based clients, applications and devices.  

The introduction of open REST APIs will allow mobile operators to market their branded services over the web or to allow third parties to develop innovative applications and delivery content.  Mavenir has also introduced new real-time capabilities such as user generated content storage, 'any to any' message transformation, SMS, MMS routing, spam control and transcoding all as part of operator-owned Mobile Cloud Services, ready to offer a compelling user experience against the OTT players.
