Maureen realized that her true passion in life was working in the field of Special Education when she was several years into her position as an insurance administrator. Maureen served as a claims representative with Hartford Insurance and became an in-house liaison for clients who had been denied vital services because of their inability to communicate their needs and requests. Through this role, Maureen realized her need to serve as an advocate on a greater scale, thus turning to the field of Special Education.

Currently, Maureen teaches at the Ezra Nolan Middle School, bringing 15 years of experience and dedication to her work providing personalized learning for her students. Maureen strives every day to guide each of her students towards success and personal growth. Throughout her years as a teacher, Maureen has successfully created relationships with parents, administrators, and support services staff to ensure that her classroom promotes goals of learning, community, growth, and success.

In addition, Maureen is a member of the Lincoln Association, Society of the Children, Mary of St. Teresa, St. Peter's College, St. Aloysius Church Parish Council and Cornstone Team Member, Phi Delta Kappa-Future Educators Association, New Jersey Education Association, and the Jersey City Education Association.

Maureen earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from the College of New Rochelle as well as her Master's Degree in Educational Technology from Jersey State University. Additionally, Maureen's credentials in Special Education were earned at St. Peters College.
