Maui's New Gallery, Art Project: Paia, Opens its Doors with Over + Under, a Photography Group Exhibition with an Aquatic Theme
OVER + UNDER | August 14-September 8, 2013
PAIA, MAUI, Hawaii, Aug. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On Wednesday, August 14, 2013, the new art gallery Art Project: Paia opened its doors to the public with Over + Under, a presentation of water photography from Maui and other regions.
Art Project: Paia premieres a group exhibition by local, mainland and international photographers with the common theme of aquatic photography. Featuring a selection of works by Mallory Morrison, Alex Hoerner, Franck Berthuot and Pablo Pro, Over + Under is an immersion into humankind's relationship with water.
Coming from very different backgrounds all the photographers share a fascination with space and the magical world of water. As gallery owner and curator of the show, Tatiana Botton, explains, "Over + Under is about the human involvement in nature; how it's possible without destroying it. There is a beautiful symbiosis of us and the ocean in this show."
Over + Under hosted an opening reception on Saturday, August 10, from 4:00–8:00 pm with live music by DJ Ray Masters. Twenty percent of all proceeds from the reception benefited Maui's environmental organization +H2O.
