PHOENIX, Aug. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- CampusLogic, the leading student financial services platform, today announced that Dr. Matthew Pittinsky, CEO of Parchment and co-founder of Blackboard, has joined its Board of Directors. An early leader in education technology, Dr. Pittinsky will support CampusLogic's purpose to help schools change lives by increasing accessibility to education, driving down student borrowing, and reducing institutional cost around student financial services.
Dr. Pittinsky co-founded the education technology platform Blackboard in 1997 and helped lead the team that took the company public in 2004. In 2011, he was appointed CEO of Parchment, a groundbreaking platform that has been used by millions of students and thousands of schools to manage and store academic credentials. A recipient of Teachers College at Columbia University's President's Medal of Excellence for impact in the field of education technology and entrepreneurship, Dr. Pittinsky also serves on the faculty at Arizona State University. He is also a co-founder of EdTechAZ, an organization dedicated to supporting the ecosystem of education technology innovation and entrepreneurship in Arizona.
"CampusLogic is applying technology to solve a complex problem for schools and students – improving the student financial journey from college search through graduation," said Dr. Pittinsky. "Their solutions are unique in their popularity among not just institutional leaders who value efficiency, but also students who appreciate the simplicity they bring to the student finance process."
CampusLogic welcomes Dr. Pittinsky to its board during a time of rapid growth, having recently announced $10 million in new funding and the acquisition of Cegment, developer of the most widely used commercial net price calculator in higher education. CampusLogic counts nearly 450 colleges and universities – including innovative institutions such as Arizona State University, Georgia State University, Purdue University and Western Governors University – among its partners. Matt joins an experienced group of board members including Clate Mask, CEO of Infusionsoft, Paul Purcell, Managing Director of Continental Investors, Nathan Groff, Managing Member of Intuition, Sid Krommenhoek, Managing Director of Peak Ventures, and Eric Shapiro, CEO of ArcTouch.
"Matt was an early investor in CampusLogic and has been an important adviser to me over the past few years, so I am obviously excited to have him join our board," said Gregg Scoresby, CEO of CampusLogic. "His experience and thoughtful approach will be especially valuable as we continue our mission to make student financial services mobile, simple and personalized."
