CONCORD, Calif., Oct. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- A new mobile dashboard that allows executives to manage their global supply chains more strategically has earned Matson Logistics recognition among CIO.com's "Analytics 50." The award honors companies that deliver innovative technology solutions to complex "big data" business problems.
Matson Logistics' cloud-based analytics product, "Supply Chain Analyzer," converts vast amounts of global supply chain data into strategic insights that executives can use to manage and optimize their supply chains.
"This new product provides analytics for all stages of a customer's supply chain, from purchase order creation through final delivery, in a single software application that operates on any desktop or mobile device," said Rusty Rolfe, president of Matson Logistics. "Within seconds, customers can now analyze supplier and carrier performance, view their international product inventory pipeline, measure transportation spend and volumes, and track on-time delivery trends."
"Any product being manufactured and shipped internationally can involve over a dozen supply chain parties and hundreds of supply chain events," said Peter Weis, vice president and chief information officer of Matson. "While large global companies often spend millions on systems to manage their supply chain performance, Matson Logistics saw an opportunity to use the cloud to 'level the playing field' for small and midsize companies through this single, secure cloud-based platform.
"By transforming large amounts of data from multiple parties and systems around the globe into Supply Chain Analyzer, our customers can quickly drive improvements just as the largest global enterprises do today. We believe that for our supply chain customers, the cloud is the great equalizer," Weis added.
Matson Logistics custom-developed Supply Chain Analyzer from concept to product launch, seeking input from customers throughout the process to help ensure that the tool was not only powerful, but simple to use for busy executives. New features of the product continue to be implemented as customer feedback is gathered.
"Solving technology problems for our customers has become a growth driver for Matson Logistics and will remain a key focus of our business strategy going forward," said Rolfe.
