The makeovers -- one at every jcpenney Salon -- will be a culmination of the national jcpenney Salon/MATRIX Makeover Event, designed to honor and celebrate the outstanding women in each jcpenney Salon community.
Nominations for the jcpenney Salon/MATRIX Makeover Event open March 20 and extend to April 30, 2011. Nomination materials will be available in jcpenney Salons, and anyone -- whether you are a stylist, a client or just happen to know a woman in need in the community, can nominate that deserving woman.
In addition to the makeover, each winner will receive:
- a MATRIX gift bag of Biolage haircare and hair styling products worth $75
- a $50 jcpenney store gift card
- a photo session and 8x10 portrait at jcpenney Portrait Studios.
Then we want you to vote for the five best makeovers in the country! Visit www.matrix.com/jcpenney to vote for your favorite makeover or visit your jcpenney stylist to learn more information about the contest. Upon voting, you will be automatically entered to win a $50 gift card redeemable at any jcpenney Salon.
For each of the five winning salons, jcpenney Afterschool and MATRIX will make a $5,000 donation to a local afterschool program in the salon's name. jcpenney Afterschool is committed to providing children in need with access to life-enriching afterschool programs that inspire them to be smart, strong and socially responsible. Over the past decade, more than $100 million has been distributed to youth charities such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the YMCA of the USA.
"jcpenney Salons and stylists are often looked to as beauty, style and image leaders in their communities," says Bob Baublits, jcpenney senior vice president for salons and revenue services. "With this makeover event, each of these salons has the opportunity to do something special for an extraordinary woman in their area and has the chance to make a tremendous difference in the lives of many kids."
The event aligns with MATRIX's new Chairs of Change movement, which celebrates, empowers and supports professional hairstylists as they create positive change in their own lives, the lives of their clients, in their communities and in the world.
