Mathew Knowles and Music World Entertainment Donate $50,000 to 'Management Leadership for Tomorrow' Benefiting Future Business Leaders
HOUSTON, April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Entertainment entrepreneur Mathew Knowles and Music World Entertainment, have made a donation towards the future of the minority leaders of tomorrow. Knowles presented a $50,000 beneficiation to the Management Leadership for Tomorrow organization on behalf of the Music World global entertainment company.
Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) is a national non-profit that has made ground-breaking progress developing the next generation of African-American, Hispanic and Native American leaders in major corporations, non-profit organizations and entrepreneurial ventures. The organization equips underrepresented minorities with both hard and soft skills, career direction, mentoring and 'door-opening' relationships necessary to become business and community leaders. The organization was recently featured on the CNN special series, "Black in America 2."
Despite comprising nearly 30% of the population in the U.S., underrepresented minorities comprise only 3% of the business leaders at corporations and entrepreneurial ventures.
"Leadership success begins with a foundation of developed skills, a clear road map and access to opportunities," says Mr. Knowles. "We need to support the leaders of tomorrow with resources and important opportunities to drive thriving businesses and bring about social change."
"The generous financial contribution from Music World Entertainment and Mathew Knowles to MLT and his active involvement with our fellows demonstrate his deep commitment to fostering the next generation of minority business and community leaders," said John Rice, MLT Founder and CEO. "We are not only appreciative but we also admire the example he is setting for those coming up behind him." Mr. Knowles recently was a guest speaker at MLT where he presented insight on "thinking outside-the-box in corporate America."
A visionary leader of Music World Entertainment, Mathew Knowles has been an active supporter of important community initiatives. Along with his family, he established The Survivor Foundation to assist people whose lives have been affected by disasters and people in need, providing assistance to children and to those suffering from HIV/AIDS and homelessness. The foundation helped construct the Knowles-Rowland Youth Center and Knowles-Temenos Place Apartments in Houston, Texas. The 43-unit efficiency apartment complex provides onsite supportive services to its tenants re-entering society on their journey to self-sufficiency. Also through donations made on behalf of The Survivor Foundation to Houston's Habitat For Humanity family homes have been built in the community.
