CHICAGO, Nov. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MathCON is expanding its education, entertainment and social hub for math enthusiasts by launching a mathematics-themed Photo Contest, a YouTube series called 'Math with Ayhan' and an engaging blog including resources for both students and teachers nationwide.
The MathCON online competition registration is open for any students (public, private, charter and home-schooled) in grades 5-12 nationwide, and schools can register for the early bird discount of $150 with an unlimited number of students until November 22.
Education Hub
The Photo Contest is themed 'Mathematics from your Perspective'. The entry deadline is March 2, 2018, and all students nationwide grades 5-12 can enter. Four contestants will receive cash prizes, and the finalist will win an iPad Mini.
A new 'Math with Ayhan' video is now released every Friday on the YouTube Channel, 'MathCON - National Math Student Competition'. This series has been introduced on YouTube to engage middle and high schoolers with a new question and solution presented each week by MathCON's very own mathematician, Ayhan Caputlu.
Every two weeks on Thursday a new blog goes live. Blogs include The Pizza Theorem, Math in Photography, Math in Movies, So you want to be a Mathematician... and much more.

Registration is open until March 1, 2018 and the online competition ends March 2, 2018. Finals will be held for qualifying students on May 5, 2018, at the UIC (University of Illinois at Chicago) Forum, 725 W Roosevelt Rd, Chicago, IL 60608.
