Materials Handling Managers Cite Reduced Shipping Costs As Area Needing Greatest Improvement In Packsize Survey

SALT LAKE CITY, July 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Reported today by Packsize International LLC in the company's first annual On Demand Packaging™ survey, a packaging solution's ability to reduce shipping costs was cited by respondents as the top-ranking aspect of their packaging operations that needs improvement. Recently conducted by Peerless Research Group, the study's findings are based on information collected from 521 top logistics and materials handling managers, who on average ship more than 2,000 packages (primarily corrugated boxes) daily from their locations. Many managers also ranked a packaging system's durability, reliability, and performance as characteristics considered most important when evaluating box-making solutions. Also of note, 92 percent of those surveyed indicated that they ship items of varying sizes, with nearly two-thirds of these companies requiring between six to ten different-sized boxes.
