Match 6 Lotto Jackpot-Winning Ticket Worth More than $1.2 Million Sold in Allegheny County
MIDDLETOWN, Pa., Oct. 31, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- One jackpot-winning Match 6 Lotto ticket worth more than $1.2 million for the Thursday, Oct. 30, drawing was sold at Rite Aid, 109 Allegheny River Blvd., Oakmont, Allegheny County.
The ticket correctly matched all six winning numbers, 24-37-38-39-47-48, to win a jackpot of $1,211,720.50, less 25 percent federal withholding.
The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
The prize must be claimed and ticket validated before the winner can be identified. Match 6 winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.
The Lottery encourages the holder of the winning ticket to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or at any of Lottery's seven area offices.
Claims may be filed at Lottery headquarters Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at area offices.
There were 73,614 other prize-winning Match 6 tickets sold for the Oct. 30 drawing, so players are reminded to check every ticket, every time.
In the 2012-13 fiscal year, in addition to awarding more than $231.3 million in prizes to Allegheny County winners, the Pennsylvania Lottery contributed more than $127.9 million to programs serving the county's older residents.
The largest Match 6 Lotto jackpot on record was a more than $7.3 million prize won by a ticket sold in Cambria County for the Oct. 3, 2013, drawing. Match 6 Lotto debuted in 2004.
How to Play Match 6 Lotto: Match 6 tickets cost $2 each. Players can choose six numbers from 1 to 49 or have numbers randomly selected by computer. The computer will then randomly select an additional two sets of six numbers, for three lines of six numbers each or 18 numbers total. Players can win up to four times on each ticket – once on each of three lines (base play) and by combining all 18 numbers (combined play).
Match 6 Lotto drawings are held on Monday and Thursday evenings.
