SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Dec. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- MassMutual's Retirement Services Division has been selected by United Cerebral Palsy of New York City, Inc. (UCP of NYC) as the new provider for the company's 403(b), 401(k), and defined benefit retirement plans. The combined assets added to MassMutual's platform from UCP of NYC's retirement plans total $42 million.
Headquartered in Manhattan, New York, UCP of NYC is the leading nonprofit agency in New York City providing direct services, technology and advocacy to children and adults with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
"MassMutual's ability to support UCP of NYC's 403(b), 401(k), and defined benefit retirement plans from a fully automated services platform made them a clear choice," says Edward Matthews, chief executive officer of UCP of NYC. "The transition of our three retirement plans to MassMutual was easy, seamless and well communicated. UCP of NYC looks forward to working with MassMutual to help each employee plan and save for retirement," adds Matthews.
"In addition to strong total retirement services capabilities, UCP of NYC was also looking for a recordkeeper that could provide high quality communication and education programs for the multi-location organization," says Mark Spivack of The Weiss Group, who assisted UCP of NYC with the search for a new retirement plan provider. "MassMutual not only met, but exceeded these expectations with its highly effective on-site educational meetings and award-winning participant communications," adds Spivack.
