Mass Tort Attorney Rick Meadow Relocating to Lanier Law Firm's Houston Office
HOUSTON, Dec. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Lanier Law Firm is pleased to announce that highly respected mass tort attorney Richard D. "Rick" Meadow is relocating from the firm's New York office to the firm's headquarters in Houston. Mr. Meadow opened the firm's New York office in 2004 and guided its rapid growth from two attorneys working from one floor of office space to 15 attorneys serving clients from three floors in midtown Manhattan.
Mr. Meadow says the move was prompted by The Lanier Law Firm's growing role as one of the nation's leading mass tort litigation firms. Currently, Mr. Meadow and the firm serve as either lead or co-lead plaintiffs' counsel in more than a dozen separate mass tort cases and multidistrict litigation proceedings (MDL) pending in courts across the U.S.
"I have spent a lot of time the past few years crisscrossing the country to meet with clients and handle their claims in these important cases," says Mr. Meadow, the firm's National Mass Tort Leader. "Our work is nationwide and not centered in one particular jurisdiction. In Houston, I'll be more centralized and have greater flexibility in terms of travel, which will enhance our work for clients."
Mr. Meadow has played a lead role in high-stakes, high-profile litigation throughout the nation, including cases involving dangerous pharmaceutical drugs, defective medical devices, asbestos exposure, medical malpractice and defective consumer products.
A member of the Lanier trial team that won the nation's first verdict over the prescription pain medication Vioxx, Mr. Meadow is a repeat honoree on the annual New York Super Lawyers list. Earlier this year, he helped negotiate a multimillion-dollar national settlement with Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals Inc. for victims of the prescription birth control pills Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella.

"Rick has been an invaluable advocate for countless clients who have been victimized by the negligence of corporations that callously put profits before people," says firm founder Mark Lanier. "His move to Houston will provide an additional level of responsiveness that will benefit our clients and the entire firm."
With offices in Houston, Los Angeles, and New York, The Lanier Law Firm is committed to addressing client concerns with effective and innovative solutions in courtrooms across the country. The firm is composed of outstanding trial attorneys with decades of experience handling cases involving pharmaceutical liability, personal injury, asbestos exposure, business litigation, product liability, maritime law, and sports and entertainment law.
