PacWest Bancorp Analyst Notes
On April 8, 2014, PacWest Bancorp (PacWest) reported the competition of its merger with CapitalSource Inc. According to PacWest, on April 7, 2014, CapitalSource Bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CapitalSource, merged with and into PacWest's banking subsidiary, Pacific Western Bank. The U.S. Federal Reserve gave its nod for the merger on April 1, 2014. The integration of CapitalSource Bank systems and the conversion of CapitalSource Bank's branches to Pacific operating platform will happen over the weekend of April 11, 2014. Twelve branches of CapitalSource and one branch of Pacific Western will be closed at the close of business on April 11, 2014 in the merger process. Morgan Stanley Analyst Notes
On April 8, 2014, Morgan Stanley announced that 12 non-profit organizations (NGO) will participate in the sixth annual Strategy Challenge, the Company's signature skills-based volunteer program that helps NGO's through pro bono strategic consulting. According to the Company, four employees of the Company will team up with each NGO in order to help these NGO's in addressing the issues related to achievement of their mission. In addition, the employees will also develop solutions for these NGOs to address their problems in an effective and efficient manner. On April 8, 2014, CapitalSource Inc. (CapitalSource) announced that the merger of its wholly owned subsidiary, CapitalSource Bank, with Pacific Western Bank was finally completed on April 7, 2014. The duo received the approval from the U.S. Federal reserve on April 1, 2014. According to the terms of the merger, each CapitalSource common stock was converted into the right to receive $2.47 in cash and 0.2837 of a share of PacWest Bancorp common stock. Based on the closing price of PacWest's common stock on April 7, 2014 of $45.83 per share, the aggregate consideration payable to CapitalSource common stockholders and holders of equity awards to acquire CapitalSource common stock is approximately $3.1 billion.
