Marzano Research Laboratory Announces Educational Technology Division

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., April 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Responding to increasing national pressure to prepare K–12 students for the rigors of technology-rich college and workplace settings, Marzano Research Laboratory (MRL) is expanding its reach with the addition of an Educational Technology Division. The new division complements MRL's vision to synthesize high-quality education research and high-quality educational technology research to improve student learning.

MRL has named Anthony J. "Sonny" Magana the director of its new division. Sonny is an award-winning classroom teacher and educational technology pioneer who has overseen educational transformation with technology at the building, district, and state levels and in the education technology industry.

Under Sonny's guidance, MRL's Educational Technology Division is offering an innovative professional development workshop series that focuses exclusively on using technology to strengthen and enhance the instructional framework outlined in Dr. Marzano's best-selling work, The Art and Science of Teaching. In-depth strategic planning consultations are also available through the Educational Technology Division and will allow educational systems to define, execute, and assess systemic transformational projects at the school, district, or state levels.
