Mary's Announces the Release of Their New Cookbook

SONOMA, Calif., Sept. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Mary's Pizza Shack is proud to announce the release of Mary's Italian Family Cookbook. Sixty years in the making, this book is testament to the talent and tenacity of the woman who started it all—Mary Fazio. With her life savings in-hand and at the age of 46, Mary opened the original Pizza Shack in Boyes Hot Springs. 

Mary's Family cookbook has more than 90 recipes and shares the compelling story of how Mary's Pizza Shack came to be. There are stories of Mary's childhood in San Francisco and how she learned to cook from her father, who was a fisherman there in the 1920s. Replete with wonderful period black-and-white photos of family and friends, as well as rich four-color food photography, this cookbook invites you to savor the authentic Italian flavors of each dish—just as if Mary herself were preparing it for your family. There are treasured "Mary Moments" at the end of each chapter, where lifelong customers and family members share their memories of Mary and the original Shack.

As we launch our cookbook, Vince Albano, Mary's grandson and CEO of Mary's Pizza Shack, shares a quote from Mary that is very befitting of her: "I'm going to cook like I did at home. The book is authored by Mary's children and daughter in-law, Toto and Peggy Albano, and Anna Albano Byerly, who all worked with Mary at the original Pizza Shack and played an intimate and crucial role in the growth of the business.
