Maryland Launches Manatron's Integrated Property Tax Software Statewide
PORTAGE, Mich., May 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Manatron, Inc., a global leader in providing integrated property tax and land administration software for governments worldwide, today announced that the state of Maryland is now utilizing the company's GRM customCAMA software to assist with the process of assessing and recording property values, across its 24 county offices. This contract also marks the first statewide implementation for Manatron.
Maryland's 24 counties are comprised of more than 2.2 million property accounts. The state originally contracted the project with Software Techniques Inc. (STI), which was acquired by Manatron in 2009. The state worked with Manatron staff to provide training sessions for each county office's staff, which totaled nearly 400 employees across all offices, to ensure a seamless rollout of the new software and production data.
The new program provides increased efficiency across all counties, which were previously storing information in separate databases that constantly needed to manually sync -- a cumbersome and time-consuming process. Data is now centralized on one server, connected to a single network, with a central hub in the City of Baltimore. Manatron software also provides the state with additional functionality for data query, reporting and analyses.
"As a result of this project, Manatron proved that it has the capacity to implement its software platform across multiple offices, covering an entire state," said Early Stephens, chief technology officer at Manatron. "Given the unique nature of this implementation, we see it as an example of a state gaining efficiency via leading technology and being able to cost-effectively manage what is a complex environment spanning multiple agencies."
Manatron GRM customCAMA is a comprehensive property appraisal software product and is the only completely customizable CAMA solution in today's market, offering multiple tailored solutions for local government property appraisers. This combination of power and flexibility makes the customCAMA software a popular choice for large and complex jurisdictions.
