Jeff Beck & Buddy Guy will bring their legendary guitar playing to Maryhill Winery on Aug. 20, 2016. Jeff Beck is a groundbreaking artist whose inimitable combination of primal shredding and cool perfectionism has left an indelible mark on everything from hard rock and jazz fusion to rockabilly and techno. Beck has earned wide critical praise and twice been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In conjunction with his U.S. summer tour with Buddy Guy, Beck on July 15th released a new studio album, Loud Hailer, marking his first studio album since the Grammy winning Emotion & Commotion in 2010. Buddy Guy, a seven-time Grammy award winner, has been a major influence on rock 'n' roll and is known as the greatest living blues musician to come out of Chicago. On July 31, 2015, one day after his 79th birthday, Guy released Born to Play Guitar, which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top Blues Albums chart.
United States Navy Band Country Current is nationally renowned for its versatility and "eye-popping" musicianship. Country Current will perform a blend of modern country music and cutting-edge bluegrass on August 28, 2016. This seven-member ensemble employs musicians from diverse backgrounds with extensive high-profile recording and touring experience in the music scenes of Nashville, New York City, New Orleans and more. In the tradition of country music, each member is a skilled performer on multiple instruments. The band utilizes banjo, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, mandolin, fiddle, electric bass, upright bass, dobro, pedal steel guitar and drum set.
Chris Isaak will bring his 50s-style rockabilly and country music to Maryhill Winery on Sept. 3, 2016. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter was propelled into stardom in the early 90s when his hit single "Wicked Game" became a Top Ten hit. In 2015, he released First Comes the Night, his first album of new material in six years.
Tears for Fears, which won the pop music spotlight via their 1983 debut album The Hurting, a sophisticated collection of inward-looking, electro-tinged pop songs including "Mad World," will perform at Maryhill Winery on September 17, 2016 (rescheduled to September 17th from its original June 18th date due to a family illness). The band's most recent studio album, 2004's critically acclaimed Everybody Loves a Happy Ending, signaled a welcome return for one of the biggest and best-loved bands of the post-MTV age, as well as one of the most eagerly anticipated reunions in pop music history.
