Maryann 'Miki' Gudermuth Recognized by Strathmore's Who's Who Worldwide Publication

SYOSSET, N.Y., Dec. 13, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Maryann "Miki" Gudermuth, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, has been included in the Strathmore's Who's Who Worldwide Edition for her outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of social services.

ABOUT MARYANN "MIKI" GUDERMUTH

Ms. Gudermuth is a polio survivor and has more than 23 years of experience in the social services arena.  She is the Founder/Executive Director of SEMO Alliance for Disability Independence, Inc., a non-residential center for independent living.  The Center provides services to persons with disabilities to enable them to remain in their own homes and in the community.  Ms. Gudermuth oversees all daily operations of the Center including six supervisors and 150 employees, program development and community outreach.  She hosts a Community Service program called "Independently Speaking" televised on Cable Access/local Fox Independent Network, and has been featured in local newspapers.  She is a member of various associations including Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, Missouri Centers for Independent Living and Missouri Alliance for Home Care.  She is a board member of Gibson Recovery.  Ms. Gudermuth received the Otto Dingledein Personal Achievement Award in the Arts in 1987, Easter Seals Personal Achievement Award in 1994 and HUD's Rising Star Award in 1998.  On April 29, 2003, Ms. Gudermuth received an inscribed Resolution stating that she was honored as an "Outstanding Missourian", signed by Catherine L. Hanaway, Speaker of the House of Representatives.  She was also chosen to receive the 2007 Zonta Woman of Achievement Award.  Ms. Gudermuth currently resides in Cape Girardeau with her husband, where she enjoys painting pastel pet portraits, playing the autoharp and watching classical films.
