SAN FRANCISCO, June 15, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Mary Alexander, a San Francisco victims' attorney, a national leader as past president of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Roscoe Pound Institute, and the Consumer Attorneys of California, who has overseen and personally taken on some of the nation's most important cases including 9-11 compensation, is being inducted into the State Bar of California's Hall of Fame with a reception, dinner, and presentation in her honor on Saturday, June 23. The reception is 5:30-7, dinner and presentation 7-10, at the Westin St. Francis Hotel, 335 Powell Street, San Francisco 94102.
In addition to leading the American Trial Lawyers to arrange compensation with a majority of the families of September 11, 2001 victims, Alexander in 2009 won "top verdict" award from the San Francisco Daily Journal for a judgment in a quadriplegic case where the victim suffered a broken neck after being struck by a speeding driver. She has also worked for victims in church pedophile and tobacco cases and says, "What corporations are not entitled to is a playing field tilted in their favor. The legal system is the last resort for those who seek to be heard."
Four-Star General Barry McCaffrey (ret), the former U.S. Drug Czar, Iraq division commander, SouthCom (Latin America) Commander, and assistant to Colin Powell at the National Security Council, will be among those attending the ceremony.
Alexander and other VIP's including Gen. McCaffrey will be available to media.
