NORTH POLE, Alaska, March 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Mary A. Bonnell is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Government Services as a result of her role as Director of Contracting with the US Army-Regional Contracting Office.
Through cutting-edge contracting techniques, innovative business processes, and top tier customer service, the ultimate goal of the Regional Contracting Office for the United States Army is to provide efficient, effective, business results for US Army Alaska soldiers, civilians, missions, and families alike.
In 1991, Mary's contracting career began in Fort Riley, Kansas when she started as a Department of the Army intern where she acquired a multitude of knowledge and learned the tools of the trade. Following her internship, she worked her way up to Director of Contracting where she has provided support services to several states and military installations throughout the course of her career.
Specializing in the areas of installation and mission support, military contracting, procurement, customer service and more, Mary possesses an Acquisition Professional Certificate at the highest level and has unlimited monetary Contracting Officer warrant authority. Before attaining her position as Director of Contracting, Mary was employed with the former RCO-AK organization as both a Contracting Officer and Supervisory Contracting Specialist. In this capacity, Mary is responsible for the oversight and daily operations regarding 27 civilian and 5 military personnel, managing nearly 1200 contracts grossing over $106 million on an annual basis.
Highly regarded in her line of work, Mary was recognized as a VIP Woman of The Year by the National Association of Professional Women as a direct result of her ongoing successes.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, gardening, sewing and spending time with her dogs. Charitably, Mary maintains affiliations with organizations such as Fisher House and local animal shelters, homeless shelter, food bank, and at-risk youth programs.
Throughout the course of her education and training, Mary received her Master's degree in Acquisition Management from Florida Institute of Technology in addition to her undergraduate degree in Biology from the College of Saint Benedict.
