LOS ANGELES, May 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Martindale Legal Marketing Network today released its first annual solo and small law firm Attorney Compensation Report. The report indicates that in 2017, U.S. solo and small law firm attorneys earned an average of $198,000 annually.
More than 7,800 U.S. attorneys across more than two dozen practice areas met the screening criteria for the report. The data was collected between January 9, 2018 and March 31, 2018 using an online survey.
The Attorney Compensation Report indicates that compensation varies both by area of practice and geography and identifies the top earners in both. In addition, the report delivers insights into the impact on income of gender, age, type of practice and other factors. It also provides observations on what attorneys find most rewarding and most challenging about their jobs as well as whether they are satisfied with the choices they've made.
