Within this role, Scott will be leading the existing digital team as well as expanding the digital practice area for the agency. Her responsibilities will include planning and execution for omni-channel campaigns including but not limited to SEO/SEM, display advertising, paid social, and social media. She will play an integral role in driving new innovation for clients and exploring new areas for growth in the digital arena.
Scott brings more than two decades of proven, experiential knowledge in media planning and integrated marketing, with core specialties in digital marketing strategy, content generation and curation, website development, and sales and inventory strategy. Prior to joining the Marketsmith team, Scott spent seven years as Director of Digital Marketing and Advertising Solutions at STACK Media, Inc., where her key responsibilities included the development and execution of digital proposals, custom advertiser sponsorships, and social media support, as well as the ideation of strategic marketing solutions for endemic and non-endemic accounts.
Scott boasts an illustrious and highly impressive career history, having held leadership positions for such companies as Time Inc., Entertainment Weekly, ESPN, and Ogilvy & Mather. Her accomplishments include expanding EntertainmentWeekly.com's 2002 net revenue by 200%; successfully developing and executing online and offline promotional efforts for NBA.com, NFL.com, NASCAR.com, and NHL.com; coordinating inventory and operations for Time Inc. Interactive during a 5-month contract-negotiation process with AOL and DoubleClick; and having her team named Media Week's "Media Plan of the Year – Less than $1MM" for her work with Gatorade and OMD.
Karen Scott holds a B.A. in Business Administration and Marketing from Muhlenberg College, and a Sports Sponsorship certificate from New York University.
