RICHMOND, Va., Nov. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Markel Corporation (NYSE: MKL) announced today that its German insurance company, Markel Insurance SE (MISE), has received regulatory approval to operate a branch office in the UK.
MISE was established to meet the insurance needs of clients located or with risk exposures in the European Economic Area (EEA) following Brexit and the UK branch will support brokers and policyholders in underwriting EEA exposures through London.
MISE already has branches authorized in Spain and the Netherlands.
