ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Association of Professional Employer Organizations has honored Oasis Outsourcing CEO Mark Perlberg with the 2015 Michaeline A. Doyle Award for his leadership and outstanding contributions to the PEO industry. The award is given annually to an individual who has provided exemplary leadership and service in devoting time and energy to NAPEO efforts and whose business philosophy is to improve the industry while improving his or her PEO at the same time. The award was presented on Sept. 11, 2015 during the association's 2015 Annual Conference & Marketplace in Phoenix.
"Mark's unwavering professionalism and his commitment to the PEO industry have been instrumental during a period of great growth within the industry and the association," said NAPEO President and CEO Pat Cleary. "His fairness, his ability to build consensus, and his wise counsel have served the industry well in helping us successfully meet challenges and embrace opportunities."
Perlberg, who has been chairman and CEO of Oasis Outsourcing since 2003, served as NAPEO chair in 2013-2014. He was the driving force behind the creation of the NAPEO Healthcare Task Force in 2012, which has resulted in the development of industry best practices for the Affordable Care Act (ACA), timely updates on ACA regulatory developments, and webinars to educate NAPEO members about the various provisions of the ACA. He also led the association's Diverse Representation Committee to reconcile the concerns of large and small NAPEO members and helped committee members coalesce around a number of important concepts.
After beginning his career as a business litigation attorney, Perlberg co-founded and was a key architect in growing a utility bill payment processing business and negotiating its sale to Western Union, where he spent six years in management roles with rapidly expanding responsibilities. Perlberg later spent four years as an officer of the John H. Harland Company. Prior to joining Oasis, Perlberg served as the chief operating officer of PRGX Global, Inc., where he planned and successfully implemented key growth strategies, including creating and leading an integrated sales, operations, IT, and client service platform.
