CHICAGO, Nov. 4, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Mark Pacchini has been appointed president of Draftfcb Asia Pacific (APAC), effective immediately. Pacchini will direct operations across the region while retaining his role as executive overseer of Draftfcb's largest global account SC Johnson (SCJ).
"Mark has extensive knowledge of the APAC region, having traveled there frequently over the last 17 years," said Laurence Boschetto, global CEO and president of Draftfcb. "While helping to fortify our operations there, his primary focus will remain on SCJ, which has aggressive plans for APAC. In his new role, Mark will be well-placed to better identify and leverage synergies for the good of both organizations in this booming part of the world."
Pacchini first joined FCB in 1980. He quickly rose through the account management ranks and was instrumental in winning SCJ's global business, fortifying the agency's worldwide network in the process. Today, Draftfcb services every one of SCJ's brands in more than 90 countries.
"Through forward planning and the creation of a regional executive team, I see the various geographic clusters in APAC operating more cohesively, with a focus on sharing talent and resources, enhancing our creative product, developing a joint new business program and driving our new 6.5 Seconds That Matter operating system across the region," said Pacchini, who will remain based in Chicago but make frequent trips to the region. "We already have a very talented team in APAC and I look forward to fostering closer collaboration to fuel further growth."
Pacchini succeeds Anil Kapoor as regional president of APAC. Kapoor recently announced his decision to assume the title of chairman emeritus at Draftfcb Ulka.
In India, Kapoor's hand-picked leadership team of Nagesh Alai as CFO; Niteen Bhagwat, CEO of Interface Communications; K.S. (Chax) Chakravarthy, Draftfcb Ulka National Creative Director; M.G. (Ambi) Parameswaran, CEO of Draftfcb Ulka in Mumbai; Shashi Sinha, CEO of Lodestar UM Media; and Arvind Wable, CEO of Draftfcb Ulka in Delhi, will continue to jointly manage the agency's operations in this critically important market, now reporting directly to Boschetto and global CFO Neil Miller, while closely collaborating with Pacchini.
Draftfcb's APAC region includes offices in Australia, Greater China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
