Mark Martines, a Highly Experienced Technology Executive, Joins Basho Technologies as Chief Legal Officer and Vice President of Corporate Development
Further Expands Strength and Expertise of Basho Management Team
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., March 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Basho Technologies, the leader in highly available, distributed database technologies, today announced that Mark Martines has joined Basho's management team as Chief Legal Officer and Vice President of Corporate Development effective as of February 27, 2012. With over 20 years of senior executive and legal experience, Mr. Martines enhances Basho's capabilities with respect to a number of different disciplines in software, including, among others, corporate finance and development, strategic partnering, technology licensing, corporate governance and legal compliance.
Mr. Martines recently served as Associate General Counsel of Citrix Systems, Inc., a leading provider of virtualization, cloud-based computing and SaaS-based collaboration technologies. Among his responsibilities at Citrix, he led and managed its corporate legal matters; was integrally involved in supporting Citrix's global strategic development; and led the creation of Citrix's corporate start-up incubator and served as a member of its investment committee.
Previously, Mr. Martines was Executive Vice President of Strategic Alliances and General Counsel at Jenzabar, Inc., a leading enterprise provider of software, strategies and services developed exclusively for higher education. Mr. Martines was integrally involved in Jenzabar's debt and equity financings, acquisitions, strategic partnerships and acquired-company integration that helped grow a start-up into a mature, middle market company. Mr. Martines came to Jenzabar from the international law firm of McDermott, Will & Emery, where he was a Partner in its Corporate and Securities Department. Mr. Martines received his bachelor's degree in Biology from Tufts University and his law degree from The George Washington University Law School.
