Mario Mueller, Chair of Open Data Center Alliance and BMW VP, to Keynote at TM Forum's Digital Disruption 2013
SAN JOSE, Oct. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Open Data Center Alliance (ODCA) today announced that Mario Mueller, ODCA's chair and VP of IT Infrastructure at BMW, will keynote at TM Forum's Digital Disruption 2013 taking place at the San Jose Convention Center on October 28 - 31st. Mueller will provide an overview of collaboration activities between TM Forum and ODCA and will discuss BMW's enterprise cloud implementation, which is based on ODCA's cloud usage models and requirements.
"We're honored to be joining the impressive line-up of expert speakers presenting at Digital Disruption 2013 and look forward to demonstrating how enterprises are using ODCA usage models today to deploy cloud services that are interoperable, secure and free of vendor lock-in," said Marvin Wheeler, executive director, Open Data Center Alliance. "We welcome and encourage all Digital Disruption 2013 participants to attend Mueller's session to gain an understanding of ODCA usage models and to see how ODCA leadership and its members are driving the enterprise ready cloud forward."
Mueller will discuss the ODCA BMW cloud implementation during the Enterprise Dimension Fireside Chat panel session taking place on Tuesday, October 29 at 11:30am. The BMW cloud strategy is highlighted in a video and discussed in detail in the recently released Open Data Center Alliance: Private Cloud Strategy at BMW white paper. The paper has been developed by ODCA to serve as a model for helping other enterprises establish their own path to the cloud and as a resource solution providers can use to identify requirements for enterprise ready cloud service delivery.
ODCA was launched in 2010 and since then the organization has released over 25 enterprise cloud and big data usage models and requirements documents focused on Secure Federation, Automation, Common Management and Policy, and Transparency. These usage models have been extremely instrumental in the development of new products from ODCA cloud solution provider members and have been adopted by ODCA leadership companies representing a wide range of vertical market segments and including BMW, Capgemini, China Unicom, Lockheed Martin, NAB, NTT Data, T-Systems, UBS and Verizon Terremark. All ODCA usage models are available for download on the ODCA website.
