Marijuana, Inc. Media Division Marijuanainc.tv Rounds Up The 420 Weekend And Releases Proposed Production Schedule
LAS VEGAS, April 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MARIJUANA, INC. (OTC:HEMP AND/OR HEMP.PK) is pleased to announce that the MarijuanaInc.TV film crew captured riveting events and interviews over the April 20, "420" Holiday weekend, and is proud to announce a production update, with two reality show pilots and a documentary slated for production this year. President David Tobias stated "We're pleased with the progress we're making at www.marijuanainc.tv. The video news and information produced by our team targets the underlying issues in the medical marijuana debate, and those affected by them. Making these videos available on the web leaves the viewer no guesswork as to what the message is. There are a plethora of written articles on the internet, and in magazines and periodicals, but we feel like we have the ultimate platform. Furthermore, we believe there's a niche for our registered content and the reality show concepts we have registered are timely, along with the compelling documentary on Cash Hyde due to begin production in May."
CEO Bruce Perlowin continued, "As traffic to www.marijuanainc.tv increases, so will revenues through advertisers. Our in-studio projects should provide significant returns. And we're pretty good marketers. Our social networking statistics show over 250,000 followers on Twitter alone. But it's also important to us to focus on the Triple Bottom Line principle; as we prosper, we will strive towards corporate social responsibility; people, planet and profit, that's our path towards sustainability."
MarijuanaInc.tv traveled to Northern California on the 4/20 Holiday to document medical marijuana activists at a rally and march in embattled Oakland. Segment producer and on camera personality Stephanie Bishop managed to capture the spirit of the movement and the region that started the fight for medical marijuana legalization and she was instrumental in gaining access to key people and events. Ms. Bishop and the crew filmed the rally for patient's rights and access to medical marijuana, which has been under siege in Oakland as of late, and the subsequent march from the downtown Oakland Federal Building to the Obama campaign headquarters where Dale Sky Jones, the executive chancellor and new head of Oaksterdam University, delivered a letter demanding immediate action regarding patient's rights to access medical cannabis. Jones elaborated on the events on camera.
The MarijuanaInc.TV crew also captured a speech by Oaksterdam founder Richard Lee, whose school was raided earlier this month in one of the highest-profile moves in the Obama administration's nationwide assault on medical marijuana. Ms. Bishop then interviewed Yvonne Westbrook White, a low income Oakland resident who has MS. White spoke of her frustration - the cannabis plants seized during the recent raid on Oaksterdam that were to be the students' final project, were intended for her medical use.
Among the many other industry insiders that MarijuanaInc.TV interviewed were long time Bay Area medical marijuana supporters including Dale Geiringer, Andrew Schnedl, Larry Richards of Coffee Shop Blue Sky, Mikki Norris, Chris Conrad from West Coast Leaf, Amy Fisher, Lisa Marie, and author Ed Rosenthal, noted for his books on growing whose titles include "Big Book of Buds" and "Marijuana Grower's Handbook" as well as his "Ask Ed" column in "High Times" and up and coming writer Dru West, author of "Secrets of The West Coast Masters". On Saturday, the film team headed to the Deep Green Festival, an event co-created by Harborside director Steve DeAngelo. Deep Green unites Earth Day, which inspires awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment, with April 20, the counterculture holiday historically focused on the benefits of hemp consumption, to produce a day that inspires awareness and appreciation of ecological and holistic human health including the benefits of cannabis. Ms. Bishop spoke on camera with Steven DeAngelo, star of the recent television show "Weed Wars". As CEO of Harborside Health Center, DeAngelo co-founded and directed California's most widely acclaimed medical cannabis dispensary—and set a new standard of excellence for the entire industry. Steve's other accomplishments in medical cannabis include launching the industry's first lab testing service, and producing the Deep Green Festival.
MarijuanaInc.TV will continue to provide coverage of pertinent events in the medical marijuana and hemp arenas in the coming months. Watch it on www.marijuanainc.tv
