Mariano Rivera and Other Stars Support Easter Seals New York at its 23rd Annual Billy Martin Golf Classic!

NEW YORK, July 10, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Easter Seals New York hosted its 23rd Annual Billy Martin Golf Classic on Monday, July 9th at Elmwood Country Club. Over 130 golfers participated in the event, creating a fun day of friendly competition while raising funds for children and adults with disabilities and special needs. All proceeds from the event benefit Easter Seals New York Programs in Hudson Valley, including four Child Development Centers, an after-school program and a monthly Community Outreach Program.

The Billy Martin Golf Classic was generously sponsored by Entergy, with additional support from phenomenal sponsors Inca Kola, Greenberg Traurig, The Shaw Group, and Wells Fargo making the outing a great day for everyone. The highlight of the evening was certainly the appearance of Yankees All-Star and five time World Series Champion pitcher Mariano Rivera, who spoke eloquently on the importance of giving back to one's community. Additional celebrities attended to lend their support for Easter Seals New York's mission, including NFL star Chad Cascadden and comedian Jackie Martling.

The tournament kicked off at 12 pm and featured a putting contest, hole-in-one cash prizes, and other contests. The evening portion, following the tournament, included a banquet dinner, silent and live auctions, raffle, and awards ceremony.
