MariaDB OpenWorks Conference to Feature Customer Tutorials, Hands-on Workshops and On-site Certification Exams; Attracting Hundreds of Developers, Enterprise Architects and Database Administrators
MENLO PARK, Calif. and HELSINKI, Oct. 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- MariaDB® Corporation today announced the call for speakers, the opening of attendee registration and multiple sponsorship opportunities in conjunction with OpenWorks, the company's newly branded, immensely popular annual user and developer conference. The name OpenWorks is an expression of the conference's focus on all things MariaDB for IT directors, as well as application and open source MariaDB developers to accelerate the business-critical role MariaDB plays in enterprises globally. Due to the overwhelming popularity of MariaDB's previous user conferences, the agenda will expand from two to three days, February 25-27, 2019, at the Conrad Hotel in New York City.
"Being among the international community of MariaDB enterprise users is the most inspiring experience of the year for me," said Michael Howard, CEO, MariaDB Corporation. "At our last user conference I talked about MariaDB's commitment to tackling the most ambitious database challenges, such as distributed computing. Since then we've made excellent progress including the acquisition of Clustrix, adding distributed database capabilities. There's much more to come and I look forward to sharing details with everyone when we gather again in New York."
Registration Open for Unique, Once-a-Year Global Gathering
As evidenced by the growing number of attendees and this year's extended agenda, which includes a full day of hands-on technical workshops, OpenWorks offers an unparalleled opportunity to learn about open source strategies and best practices in infrastructure modernization with MariaDB. Register here to join peers from around the world in learning from use case presentations and accessing all levels of experts to help in developing new applications, including storage, cloud, parser and proxy technologies.
Share Your Knowledge
Technology leaders, business application and open source developers are invited to submit presentation proposals now through October 31, 2018. - Operations – Operational agility with cloud/container infrastructure like Docker and Kubernetes, automated provisioning and transparent routing, sharding and failover
- Development – Building modern applications with modern SQL (e.g., temporal queries) and flexible schemas (e.g., hybrid relational/JSON data models)
- Analytics – Driving faster time-to-insight with ad hoc, interactive analytics on near real-time data, scaling to hundreds of billions of rows and petabytes of data
