WASHINGTON, Sept. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Deloitte announced today that Margaret Anderson has joined its federal health practice as a managing director for Deloitte Consulting LLP. In this role, she will be working across federal health, nonprofit, and the healthcare and life science sectors to help advance solutions to challenges that stand in the way of improved health outcomes for patients.

Anderson most recently was the executive director of FasterCures, a Washington-based center of the Milken Institute. FasterCures focuses on spurring cross-sector collaboration, cultivating a culture of innovation and engaging patients as partners.

She currently serves on the boards of the Advancing Cures Today (Act) for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Melanoma Research Alliance and the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. She is also on the editorial board of Life Science Leader Magazine.
Additionally, Anderson is a founding board member and past-president of the Alliance for a Stronger FDA. She was also a founding member of NIH's National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences Advisory Council and Cures Acceleration Network Review Board. She has served on a number of national health-related boards and committees, including National Health Council board of directors; board of United for Medical Research; FDA's Science Looking Forward Committee; Parker Institute for Immunotherapy Policy Committee; and the National Academy of Medicine's Forum on Drug Discovery, Development and Translation.
Prior to joining FasterCures in 2004, Anderson was the deputy director and a team leader in the Center on AIDS & Community Health at the Academy for Educational Development, where she led public health projects for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private foundations. She was program director at the Society for Women's Health Research and was a health science analyst at the American Public Health Association, where she managed a programmatic portfolio on HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, infectious diseases, women's health and public health infrastructure issues.
Anderson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science degree in technology and public policy from George Washington University.
