Marble Church Brings Community And Hope In A Time Of Isolation And Fear

NEW YORK, March 18, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- On Sunday March 15, Dr. Michael Bos, Senior Minister of Marble Collegiate Church, sat on the Chancel of an empty Sanctuary and preached to thousands of viewers online. He opened with these words:

"Can you believe the World we woke up to this morning? One week ago, we would never have guessed we would be doing Worship in this way. But, I am so thankful that we have the ability to do this because we are in a time where we need one another more than ever."

Worshipers watching via MarbleChurch.org and Facebook Live engaged in conversation with each other, lifting one another up and offering prayers, and singing along to hymns with the lyrics provided on the screen.

Though an empty Sanctuary is new to Marble Church, streaming has been something Marble has offered for more than a decade. Through its streaming, Marble has reached viewers in all fifty states and over 160 countries and so in a time of closures and social distancing, Marble Church is more than prepared to keep its congregation and others connected safely through a host of online opportunities.
