Maquet And PULSION Announce Distribution Agreement For The PiCCO® And ProAQT® Hemodynamic Product Lines
WAYNE, N.J., Oct. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Maquet Medical Systems announced a collaboration with PULSION Medical Systems wherein Maquet will distribute PULSION's PiCCO hemodynamic monitoring technology and ProAQT perioperative hemodynamic management products. Maquet is the majority shareholder in Pulsion.

The PiCCO Technology provides all the necessary information in an easy to interpret graphical visualization, providing clinicians with tools to assist them make therapeutic decisions, based on clear and hard facts. ProAQT visualizes the arterial blood pressure curve providing clinicians with a decision support tool to determine the patient's cardiovascular status and to support decisions regarding clinical interventions.
PiCCO Cardiac Output System monitors hemodynamic function in intensive care situations where using standard monitoring parameters such as ECG, non-invasive blood pressure and pulse oximetry do not provide enough information to enable adequate treatment. The PiCCO Technology provides all the necessary information in an easy to interpret graphical visualization that enables faster therapeutic decisions, based on an array of hemodynamic measurements.
ProAQT sensor supports goal directed therapy and allows the review of interventions to assess their success. The ProAQT monitoring range has been expanded to include variables such as blood flow, volume responsiveness, afterload and contractility. ProAQT Sensor is a special single-use cardiac output sensor, designed for continuous hemodynamic monitoring with suitable PULSION monitors. The arterial blood pressure curve is utilized to determine the patient's cardiovascular status and to support decisions regarding clinical interventions.
