MAPIC Awards 2011 Finalists Chosen
16-18 November 2011 - Palais des Festivals, Cannes
PARIS, Oct. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The jury for the MAPIC Awards, headed by John Strachan, Global Head of Retail, Cushman & Wakefield LLP (United Kingdom), met in Paris to select the finalists for the MAPIC Awards 2011.
The panel reviewed some 40 submissions from 17 countries ranging from Singapore to India and Slovakia to Italy, offering a global vision of both retailer expansion and creativity and reflecting the quality of today's retail projects.
The 'Best Retail Development' category has been divided into two and will now reward the new retail developments as well as the refurbished ones. "It seemed important to fine-tune this award: refurbishing business parks is now a new challenge for meeting consumer demand, and must also address environmental issues," says Nathalie Depetro, Director of MAPIC.
During MAPIC, attendees will vote for the projects that have been nominated and their votes will have the same weight as the jury's votes in selecting the winners. The MAPIC Awards winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in the Palais des Festivals in Cannes on Thursday, 17th November at 6:30 pm.
