SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MapD Technologies, the leader in GPU-accelerated data analytics, today announced that enterprise software marketing expert Grant Halloran has joined the company as executive vice president and chief marketing officer (CMO), reporting to CEO and MapD co-founder, Todd Mostak.
Grant brings to MapD twenty years of expertise in the software industry, most recently as Anaplan CMO through its hyper-growth period 2015 to 2017. In that time Anaplan grew its customer base 400% and global headcount expanded from 200 to 700. Prior to Anaplan, Grant served as global vice president and general manager of the Marketing and CRM Software group at enterprise software company Infor. Before that, Grant co-founded Orbis, a SaaS-based marketing software company that was acquired by Infor in 2012. Grant studied at Australian National University, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
"I'm very excited and humbled by the opportunity to work alongside the great team we have here at MapD," said Grant Halloran. "MapD's revolutionary technology is awe-inspiring, as it helps reveal the hidden value in massive datasets. Before MapD, those were simply too large to be interactively analyzed. Every major organization has a need for this specialized analytics, so I believe the market opportunity for MapD is very large."
MapD's ground-breaking data analytics platform delivers unrivalled query speed and visual interactivity on multi-billion-row datasets, by leveraging the massive parallel processing capabilities of GPUs. This capability is enabling a range of new, high-value analytics use cases, such as improving telecom network performance, fraud detection, financial trading analysis, geospatial analytics, telematics for fleet and AI-enhanced vehicles, cybersecurity, electricity grid balancing, and accelerating feature engineering for artificial intelligence (AI) models.
"We're delighted to have Grant join our leadership team. His approach to balancing strategy with pragmatic execution, domain expertise with platforms, energy and track record will help take MapD through the next phase of rapid growth and beyond," said MapD co-founder and CEO Todd Mostak.
Grant's appointment follows the recent expansion of MapD's go-to-market leadership and community relations team with senior hires from Cask Data, Hortonworks, Mesosphere and Mulesoft.
