Manufacturer of Inground Pool Liners, LOOP-LOC, Shares Tips for Opening Your Pool This Spring
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., March 26, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Swimming season is on its way! Temperatures are on the rise and now it's time to start thinking about when you want to open your pool for the season. Manufacturer of inground pool liners, LOOP-LOC, shares tips for opening your pool this spring.
First things first, you'll need to clean up the surrounding pool area and uncover your pool. Start by removing any debris around the pool and deck area. Once you have a clean area to work, you'll want to remove the cover and lay it in a flat spot where you can easily clean it off and fold it up for storage. Be especially careful not to drag the cover across any rough surfaces that can cause damage. If you can invite a friend or family member over, having an extra pair of hands really helps with this step.
Now that you can see the water, you should skim your pool. Skimming will grab anything that may have fallen from the cover and remove any large debris that could potentially clog your filtering system. Getting the larger things out first will help with the cleaning you will have to do after. It will be important to vacuum the pool and wipe down any areas that need some extra touching up after being covered during the colder months. You can head to your local pool store to get any cleaning chemicals you may need that will be safe to use in your pool.
Before your pool is ready to dive in, you'll need to test and balance your chemicals. Begin with your pH. It's recommended to keep a pH level between 7.4-7.6 pH. If pH levels are too high, water can become cloudy. If they fall too low, water can become acidic which is damaging for our bodies to swim in. You'll also want to shock the pool with a sanitizer. After a couple of days, you can drop in some chlorine and any other chemicals that are needed such as algaecides, clarifiers, salts or enzymes. Once the water is clear and you can see the pool floor, it will be safe.
Opening your pool is exciting, especially knowing that the warm weather and fun times will follow. Take into consideration the tips above to give you a head start on your pool opening this season, getting you into that nice blue pool water sooner than later!
