First things first, you'll need to clean up the surrounding pool area and uncover your pool. Start by removing any debris around the pool and deck area. Once you have a clean area to work, you'll want to remove the cover and lay it in a flat spot where you can easily clean it off and fold it up for storage. Be especially careful not to drag the cover across any rough surfaces that can cause damage. Now that you can see the water, you should skim your pool.
