ManufactOn Secures Investment from Brick & Mortar Ventures
November 2nd 2016 -- Boston-area startup developing cloud/mobile software for prefabrication supply chain and production management
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- "ManufactOn has been working with innovative general contractors and subcontractors to create a collaborative, cloud/mobile software for prefabrication supply chain and production management," said Raghi Iyengar, Founder & CEO. "We are pleased to have secured additional investment to accelerate our product development and build on our existing charter customer program to work with more leading general contractors and trade subcontractors."
Darren Bechtel's Brick & Mortar Ventures led the financing with participation from other investors from the building construction industry. "The world of construction is moving away from its traditional stick-build, in-place processes, and is slowly but surely adopting a new status quo in which construction replicates modern day precision manufacturing, with real estate-scale building components and subassemblies fabricated in offsite, controlled environments and shipped for just-in-time arrival and installation," explained Darren Bechtel. "ManufactOn is positioned to be the one-stop-shop solution for managing the manufacturing, and tracking, of prefabricated building components throughout their entire lifecycle, from raw materials to final installation."
"ManufactOn provides a 21st century cloud/mobile platform for coordinating prefabrication production," said Andy Deschenes, Director of Innovation at Consigli Construction, one of the larger building contractors in the country based out of Milford, MA. "As a Construction Manager, Consigli is looking to standardize around ManufactOn for managing our prefab subcontractor supply chain."
"We had been struggling to provide visibility into our production "black box" to our project coordinators and field superintendents," said Brian Potter, President and CEO of TG Gallagher, a large mechanical subcontractor in Cambridge, MA. "In addition to helping our shop foremen organize production, the mobile app from ManufactOn is used by our field and office teams to know exactly what has been produced and where it is right now."
"ManufactOn provides a powerful platform that allows our entire team to manage and track the supply chain from material purchasing to production, and all the way through delivery to the jobsite," said Matthew Englert, Vice President of Mission Critical at Rosendin Electric. "We anticipate ManufactOn will play a critical role in accomplishing Rosendin's mandate to grow the amount of prefabrication delivered throughout the organization."
