CEO, Molly Morse will be presenting at CleanEquity Monaco. Mango Materials is a game-changing start-up company that creates a sustainable, ecofriendly and low-cost alternative to petrochemical-based plastic. The company uses bacteria to transform a potent greenhouse gas, methane, into biodegradable, economically and functionally competitive bioplastics. Incorporated in August 2010 by three female PhD's and based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the company developed its patented microbial processes at Stanford University. Its operations team has the world-class scientific knowledge and technical expertise to efficiently scale production of biodegradable plastics from cheap, renewable, and locally sourced waste methane (biogas). Mango Materials' executive leadership team has built relationships with customers, partners and distributors who have a strong interest in the product. The company is now working to build a demonstration facility that will use the waste methane from a water treatment plant to feed the Mango Materials bacteria, which naturally transform this methane gas into a biodegradable polymer. Mango Materials' process could utilize current methane emissions to replace a significant fraction of the world's plastics with biodegradable bioplastics.
