Manatron MARS Selected by Texas' Bosque County Appraisal District
PORTAGE, Mich., Nov. 4, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Manatron, Inc., a global leader in providing integrated property tax and records management software for state and local governments, today announced that it has been awarded the contract for Texas' Bosque County Appraisal District, which will utilize Manatron's MARS computer aided mass appraisal (CAMA) software system.
Bosque County Appraisal District was seeking to upgrade an outdated system to stay compliant with state mandates and government legislative updates. Manatron was one of five government software providers reviewed through a competitive bid process. Manatron was selected, in part, due to many prior meetings held with Beyond Appraisal, a company recently acquired by Manatron. These meetings assisted the appraisal district staff in understanding the MARS system and its functionality and ensured the software would be applicable for the Texas market. County representatives also received high recommendations for Manatron from neighboring Johnson County, a current Manatron customer, which offered a demonstration held in their offices.
"The county is confident it selected the best company to implement a comprehensive software system," said RoseMary Galaviz, Chief Appraiser. "Aside from an expertise in the market, Manatron was also very willing to work with budgetary limitations and remain flexible with our current processes. Our office is excited to move forward with the launch, and we believe this updated version will be a benefit to the residents of Bosque County Appraisal District."
MARS is Manatron's CAMA system built specifically for Texas Appraisers and is a sophisticated next-generation CAMA software product that enables Texas Appraisal Districts of any size to streamline the appraisal process, improve accuracy and empower appraisal staff. MARS is an enterprise-level appraisal system built on a, multi-tier open architecture. With approximately 23,000 residents, Bosque County Appraisal District is mostly comprised of farming and agricultural land. Its offices are responsible for the tracking and assessment of over 22,000 property parcels.
Manatron said it expects to launch the MARS software in Bosque County Appraisal District in late-2010. As part of their service contract with Manatron, Bosque County Appraisal District will receive ongoing software and technical support, legislative updates, product enhancements, integration with the latest technology and new software releases as they become available.
