MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Manatee HS (Bradenton, Fla.), John Curtis (River Ridge, La.) and DeSoto (Texas)—all 10-0—continue to dominate the top three spots in the USA TODAY High School Sports Super 25 national high school football editorial rankings for the week of Nov. 12. Meanwhile, two teams—St. Joseph's Prep (Philadelphia, Pa.) and St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio)—saw their undefeated seasons come to an end and have dropped out of the rankings.
The USA TODAY High School Sports Super 25 rankings appear in today's print edition of USA TODAY Sports and are also available online at USA TODAY High School Sports (www.usatodayhss.com).
The USA TODAY High School Sports Super 25 is now in its 30th year as the most prestigious high school ranking platform in the nation. Gatorade is the Official Fuel of the Super 25 rankings platform, which includes computer rankings of every major high school football, baseball, boys and girls basketball and boys and girls lacrosse team in the nation.
The biggest move within the Super 25 this week came from last week's No. 5 team, Camden County (Kingsland, Ga.), though it's a move downward. Camden County (9-1) lost its first game of the season, 13-12, to unranked Colquitt County (Moultrie, Ga.), dropping the Wildcats to No. 25 in this week's rankings. It has been replaced at No. 5 by Butler (Matthews, N.C.), which moved up one spot from last week after improving to 12-0 heading into its 4A state quarterfinal matchup against East Forsyth (Kernersville, N.C.).
Two unbeaten teams, Lassiter (Marietta, Ga.) and Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg, Pa.), make their first appearance in the Super 25 rankings this week, debuting at No. 23 and 24 respectively.
