On May 7, 2014, AMERCO announced that the financial strength rating of its subsidiary, Oxford Life Insurance Company, has been upgraded from B++ (Good) to A- (Excellent) and its issuer credit ratings has been upgraded from "bbb+" to "a-" by the world's oldest and most authoritative insurance rating and information source, A.M.
