Managed Health Care Associates, Inc. (MHA) Launches Prior Authorization Solution MHAuthorizeRx™ powered by CoverMyMeds®
FLORHAM PARK, N.J., Sept. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Managed Health Care Associates, Inc. (MHA), a leading health care services company focused on the alternate site health care provider marketplace, announced today that it has entered into a strategic alliance with CoverMyMeds®. This relationship will provide a co-branded solution to MHA's pharmacy members that will help facilitate a more efficient process for completing and submitting drug Prior Authorizations (PAs). PAs are utilized by health plans and payers as part of the coverage and utilization management of pharmaceutical products. MHA will launch MHAuthorizeRx™ powered by CoverMyMeds, which is an easy-to-use, secure, Web-based tool that helps pharmacies collaborate with prescribing physicians to submit PAs for a majority of health plans across the United States. This solution simplifies the PA process by creating an automated, paperless experience for the pharmacy and ensures that prescriptions are filled with greater efficiency and with the most up-to-date information.
Erik Halstrom, Vice President of MHA Specialty Pharmacy Solutions, commented, "We are excited to have entered into this alliance with CoverMyMeds, a market leader and innovator, in order to be able to provide PA solutions and services for our members in the long-term-care and alternate site health care markets. With our newly formed alliance, driven by MHA's Specialty Pharmacy Solution's strategy, we will continue to collaborate on solutions that increase the efficiencies of our members in a complex reimbursement and patient management landscape."
Michael J. Sicilian, President of MHA added, "MHA has and always will be an organization that provides solutions and tools that help our members focus on what they do best and that is providing high quality patient care. This alliance is another example of identifying those solutions that assist our members in managing their day-to-day business."
Ron Fine, R.Ph, V.P. National Pharmacy Accounts of CoverMyMeds added, "We are very pleased to announce our alliance with MHA to offer a much needed drug Prior Authorization solution to MHA's members. This co-branded solution will leverage the existing CoverMyMeds offering and will provide a significantly more efficient process while also providing electronic connectivity with prescribers when a PA is needed for coverage."
