OPENING: 1 - 5 P.M., SUNDAY, MARCH 11TH, 2012. SHUTTLE SERVICE PROVIDED FROM MILK STUDIOS.
JERSEY CITY, N.J., Feb. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Come to Mana Contemporary to enjoy a captivating artistic experience. In one afternoon, we will be celebrating the debut of three distinctive but complementary artistic events involving sculptor Joshua Kirsch, Shen Wei Dance Arts and The Eileen S. Kaminsky Family Foundation.
Kinetic sculptor Joshua Kirsch offers two fascinating interactive pieces. For the room-sized Sympathetic Resonance, Kirsch invites viewers to play the keyboard triggering distant percussion instruments that transform the room into an all-encompassing experience. Mounted on the wall, Kirsch's Occulus invites viewers handle and manipulate its movements prompting the robotic sculpture to pivot and move synchronously.
Shen Wei, choreographer and artistic director of Shen Wei Dance Arts, will have his ensemble perform selections from the striking multi-media piece Undivided Divided. On Mana Contemporary's 6th floor will be body painting, video projections, Plexiglas cubes, and original music. Similar to the groups' acclaimed Park Avenue Armory performance, visitors of the exhibition can stroll between the dancers and installations becoming part of the performance space.
To complete the artistic intention of the night, join us for visual and intellectual stimulation with Eileen S. Kaminsky Family Foundation debut of its most recent, stunning acquisitions hand-picked by Ms. Kaminsky herself. Here, you will see a great array of multidimensional pieces from international artists.
Like Mana Contemporary itself, the night will include a mixture of all aspects of the art world. Come and stimulate your senses for a night unlike any other.
