Malaysian Ministerial Delegation Visits Ecobuild 2014
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, April 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The 10th anniversary of Ecobuild, world's largest event for sustainable design, construction, energy and the built environment conveyed wider and bigger exhibitors, industry players, speakers, conference and seminars than ever before. The 2014 edition held from 4th to 6th March 2014 at London's ExCel was additionally significant with the visit from the Minister of Works, Malaysia Y.B. Datuk Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof accompanied by the high level delegation from the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia which serves as the construction advisory body to the government and a strong supporter of Ecobuild SEA 2014, the Southeast Asia edition.

The objective of the visit is to learn from western exemplar and best practices in every aspects of green construction, an essential enabler in the construction technology and skills required within the Malaysia construction industry. The Honorary Minister and his delegations spent over a good three hours visiting the UK companies and international companies to encourage them to exhibit at the 2nd edition of Ecobuild SEA 2014. Exhibitors also took the opportunity to explain and execute some demonstration of their product showcases in UK to the delegations.
Meanwhile, some of the exhibits companies such as Sain Gobain, Viessmann, KSB Limited, Kingspan, Wilo, Mapei that operates in Malaysia has expressed their interest in participating at the upcoming Ecobuild SEA 2014. Adding onto the stellar visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between CIDB and BRE on the benchmarking of Malaysia green rating tool which is currently in the final stages of development, and other research and development projects.
The visit indeed served as the pinnacle of catalyst for the Ministry, CIDB and UBM ASEAN to present Ecobuild SEA as the unrivalled gateway into the Southeast Asian market for sustainable construction by distilling key components of Ecobuild in UK to deliver a spectacle of the latest innovations and showcase of the most impressive sustainable projects from across the industry.
Ecobuild SEA will be held from 17-19 September 2014 at Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as part of the International Construction Week, an annual event spearheaded by the CIDB. This exhibition carries the characteristic of Ecobuild ExCel London and embedded with 4 additional elements to enrich the exhibition and to encounter the demands of Malaysia construction industry. Ecobuild SEA 2014 is the leading event focusing on sustainable design, construction and the built environment.
