Makers of California's Own Don Francisco's Coffee Present Hecho a Mano Exhibit in Los Angeles
The limited engagement series will be on display at Gallery 825 Through February 11, 2011
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- F. Gavina & Sons, Inc., makers of California's own Don Francisco's Coffee, today announced that they will be the platinum sponsor of "Hecho a Mano (Made by Hand)," a multi-media, cross-cultural exhibition of contemporary art presented by the National Coffee Alliance, Guatemala (ANACAFE) and The Los Angeles Art Association (LAAA). The showcase kicked off January 15 at Gallery 825 and will be open to the public through February 11, 2011 in conjunction with Los Angeles Art Month.
"Hecho a Mano" is a special collaborative exhibition featuring contemporary artwork created by Greater Los Angeles-area emerging artists exploring issues of quality workmanship and cultural heritage. Also included are selections from ANACAFE's 50th Anniversary exhibition titled "Inspired by Coffee" that debuted at the International Coffee Organization's World Coffee Conference in February 2010. The collection showcases images of Guatemala's coffee-growing regions by photographers from Belgium, Guatemala, Italy, Japan, France, and the U.S., along with panoramic views captured in 1875 by Anglo-American photographer Eadweard Muybridge.
"Producing fine coffee like our very own super premium Don Francisco's Family Reserve Coffees is very similar to creating works of art — both require tremendous passion, great skill, patience, and relentless dedication," explained Leonor Gavina-Valls, vice president of Marketing for F. Gavina & Sons, Inc. "As a family-owned roaster with a coffee legacy as growers and producers that extends for more than 130 years, we are proud to partner with Guatemala's National Coffee Alliance and Gallery 825 to bring to life this extraordinary exhibition and help share local artists' work in a beautiful, creative and inspirational way."
LAAA / Gallery 825 is located at 825 North La Cienega Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90069.
