Make a Difference with Vitamin World® this Holiday Season
Help Improve the Lives of Children Locally and Around the World
HOLBROOK, N.Y., Oct. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Vitamin World® has launched its Holiday Campaign "Be An Angel. Make a Difference." in an effort to support Vitamin Angels®. The focus of this campaign is to help millions of children around the world who suffer from vitamin A deficiency (VAD) and malnutrition.
Vitamin World®'s goal this holiday season is $500,000. The donations received from this three month campaign will be used to provide vital nutrition in the form of nutritional supplements, to developing countries, communities and individuals locally in the U.S. and throughout the world.
"With the overwhelming generosity of our customers at Vitamin World® over the past four years, I am confident that this year's Holiday Campaign will help us reach millions more children who suffer from malnutrition. What a tremendous gift for the holidays!" said Vicki McGuire, Sr. Vice President of Vitamin World®.
Worldwide, an estimated 190 million children under five suffer from vitamin A deficiency (VAD), a major underlying cause of child mortality and blindness. However, with one dose of vitamin A every six months we can help prevent VAD blindness and reduce under-five child mortality by an average of 24% in at-risk populations.
